Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Oct. 1

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Sept. 25 to Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Monday, Sept. 25 at 6:47 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 41000 block of Hwy 41 regarding a burglary. Report written, evidence obtained, and case closed.

Oakhurst theft
On Monday, Sept. 25 at 10:24 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Liberty Drive regarding theft. Report taken and case closed.

Oakhurst meth and driving with suspended license
On Monday, Sept. 25 at 10:03 a.m. a vehicle stop in leds to a cited arrest for possession of methamphetamine and driving with a suspended license. Vehicle stored.

Bass Lake vandalism
On Monday, Sept. 25 at 1:52 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a vandalism report by phone. A report was taken for documentation only. Currently, there are no suspect(s) or witnesses.

Oakhurst child abuse
On Monday, Sept. 25 at 12:45 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of Road 427 regarding child abuse. Report taken and case closed.

Coarsegold found debit cards
On Monday, Sept. 25 at 1:43 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 36000 block of Morava Road in regards to found debit cards. Attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful. Found items were later booked into the Oakhurst substation for safekeeping.

Oakhurst driver arrested, vehicle impounded
On Monday, Sept. 25 at 11:41 p.m. a deputy was patrolling in the area of Road 426 and Road 427 when a traffic enforcement stop was conducted for a vehicle code violation. During the stop it was found the vehicle had expired registration (2013) and had false plates and tabs. The driver was arrested and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was arrested, cited and released on scene and the vehicle was impounded.

Oakhurst theft
On Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 10:43 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 in regards to a theft report. Upon arrival, the victim was contacted. Video surveillance of the theft was viewed. Currently, there are no suspect(s).

Oakhurst missing teenager
On Tuesday, Sept. 26 at about 11:30 a.m., a parent of a runaway teenager came into the Oakhurst substation to file a report. A report was taken and a deputy attempted to locate the teenager in Coarsegold but was unable to locate her. The teenager’s information was submitted and entered into the missing person’s system.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 11:20 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 39000 block of Road 425B in regards to a vandalism report. A report was taken for documentation. Currently, there were no suspect(s) or witnesses.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 11:20 a.m. a deputy was conducting a patrol check in Indian Lakes Estates and contacted a male subject with an outstanding warrant. Report written and case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst violation of court order
On Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 2:39 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 39000 block of Road 425B in regards to a violation of a court order. Upon arrival, the victim is contacted and a report is taken. This case will be forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for review of charges.

Coarsegold burglary, vandalism, arrest
On Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 6:49 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 35000 block of CA-41 regarding a report of a vehicle burglary and vandalism. During the investigation a male was apprehended at the scene and placed into custody. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s office for the filing of related charges.

Coarsegold woman shoots at prowler
On Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 10:08 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 44000 block of Copper Creek Court regarding a report of a prowler. During the investigation it was determined the female (victim) resident was home alone at the time. When the prowler was seen outside her bedroom french doors the victim obtained her firearm and discharged one round at the unknown prowler. The prowler fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel. No one was injured. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

Oakhurst vehicle stop, arrest, narcotics, weapon
On Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 11:29 a deputy conducted a vehicle stop on the 40000 block of CA-49. The driver was arrested for two misdemeanor warrants and narcotic violations. Passenger was arrested for a weapon violation. Both subjects were cited and released. Forward to Madera County DA to pursue charges.

Oakhurst student arrested and transported to juvenile hall
On Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 9:31 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of School Road regarding a student who had threatened to throw a rock at staff. He was also in possession of a knife on campus. He was arrested and transported to Madera Juvenile Hall where he was booked. Refer to Juvenile Probation for charges filed.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 12:18 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of River Park Road regarding a subject with Alzheimer’s who was out of control and attempting to flee. Upon contact a protective hold was placed and the subject was transported.

Oakhurst ammunition turned over for destruction
On Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 1:42 a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation regarding property traffic. General incident report for documentation purposes only regarding ammunition that was turned over by a citizen for destruction.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 2:53 p.m. a deputy dispatched to 46000 block of Road 417 regarding a male subject who cut his wrists. A report was taken and the subject sent to the emergency room by ambulance.

Oakhurst violation of domestic restraining order
On Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 6:06 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Vista Heights Lane in regards to a violation of a domestic restraining order. Case was filed and will be forwarded to Madera County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Oakhurst theft
On Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 6:19 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 47000 block of Road 620 regarding a possible burglary report. After concluding the investigation a report was taken. Case should be closed at this time due to lack of leads.

Coarsegold bullets found in hotel room
On Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 5:47 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding found property. It was determined the property was two .22-caliber bullets which were located in a room. The property was collected and booked for destruction.

Coarsegold vehicle stop, paraphernalia, warrants
On Thursday, Sept. 28 at about 2 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on CA-41 and Road 425B for a broken license plate light and obstructed license plate. The driver was cited and released for driving without a valid California Driver’s license and for possession of paraphernalia. The passenger was cited and released for two outstanding misdemeanor warrants out of Madera County. Case forwarded to DA’s officer to file charges.

Bass Lake danger to self
On Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7:16 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Road 331 regarding a suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and a protective hold was placed. The subject was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Coarsegold BB gun found in security vehicle
On Thursday, Sept. 28 at 10:41 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway regarding a found BB gun in a Yosemite Lakes Park Security vehicle. The manager asked that we dispose of the BB gun and requested a report for documentation. Refer report closed.

North Fork motorcycle stop, warrants, drugs
On Thursday, Sept. 28 at 12:04 p.m. a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop on a motorcycle in the area of Rd 200 / Rd 221 in North Fork which resulted in the driver and passenger being arrested for outstanding warrants and drug possession. Forward the case to the DA for charges on the possession charges.

Coarsegold juvenile mental health hold
On Thursday, Sept. 28 at 4:26 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 28000 of Margaret Road regarding a juvenile that was a danger to others. The subject went to Valley Children’s hospital via EMS under a mental health evaluation hold.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Thursday, Sept. 28 at 9:31 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-Hwy 41 regarding a subject who had told family members he wanted to kill himself and sent them a picture of a bloody wrist. Upon arrival to the area the subject was located and found with a large laceration to his left inner forearm. The subject also made statements about how he no longer wanted to live. The subject was placed on a hold and transported by EMS to the hospital to get psychiatric help.

Oakhurst vehicle stop, weapons
On Friday, Sept. 29 at 7:56 a.m. a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of CA 41 / Golden Oak Loop, which resulted in the driver being arrested and cited out for weapons violations. Forward the case to the DA for charges.

Oakhurst domestic violence restraining order violation
On Friday, Sept. 29 at 11:07 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Vista Heights Lane regarding violation of a domestic violence restraining order. A report was taken. Forward to the DA for charges.

Oakhurst driver cited and vehicle stored
On Friday, Sept. 29 at 3:52 p.m. a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement in the area of CA 41 / Golden Oak Loop which resulted in the driver being cited and the vehicle stored. Forward to the Madera Court Traffic Division for direct filing.

Coarsegold intoxication, arrest, probation violation
On Sunday, Oct. 1 at 1:05 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of Sioux Road regarding a possible domestic disturbance. Upon arrival to the area a male subject was observed lying in the center of the roadway. Upon contact the subject resisted deputies commands and ran. A taser was deployed and the subject was taken into custody. He was cleared by Madera Community Hospital and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections for resisting arrest, being intoxicated in public and probation violation. Case closed by arrest.

North Fork danger to self
On Sunday, Oct. 1 at 2:45 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of Road 200 and House Ranch Road regarding a female subject who was threatening to commit suicide. The female subject was placed on a mental health evaluation hold and was transported to a hospital. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold burglary
On Sunday, Oct. 1 at 3:03 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 41000 block of Lilly Mountain Drive regarding a cold residential burglary. There are no possible leads at this time. Case to be closed at this time.
