Sheriff’s Crime Log Through July 9

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, July 3, to Sunday, July 9, 2017:

North Fork warrant arrest
On Monday, July 3, at 1:27 a.m., a deputy was conducting a followup investigation in an attempt to locate a subject who recently committed a felony crime. During the investigation deputies arrived at a residence located within the 60000 block of Happy Oak Lane in North Fork, and contacted a male, not related to the original investigation and determined he had an outstanding felony no bail warrant for his arrest. The male was placed into custody and transported to the Madera County Jail. This case has been closed.

O’Neals arrest on Fresno felony warrant
On Monday, July 3 at 3:34 a.m., deputies conducted an attempt to contact at a residence in the 50000 block of Road 200 in the town of O’Neals. Deputy contacted a male subject who was found to have a felony warrant out of Fresno County. The male subject was arrested, transported and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections. Case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst lost keys
On Monday, July 3, at 8:48 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Liberty Dr, Oakhurst, in regards to a set of keys reported found in the 40000 block of Indian Springs Rd. Case to be closed

Bass Lake theft
On Monday, July 3, at 5:25 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 53000 block of Road 432 in Bass Lake regarding a cold theft of a gas can and propane. There was no evidence or leads. Case to be closed.

Bass Lake boating DUI
On July 3, 2017, at approximately 8:10 p.m. a subject was stopped for operating a person water craft on Bass Lake after 8 p.m., and for not wearing a Type 3 Personal Flotation Device (PFD). The deputy could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. A field sobriety test was administered and the subjec was arrested for 655(b) H&N, Boating under the influence at 2025 hours. Case report written.

Raymond outstanding warrants arrest
On Tuesday, July 4, at 1:07 p.m., a deputy conducted a vehicle stop for vehicle code violation on Road 600 at Road 407. The driver was found to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The driver arrested and booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections (MDOC).

Coarsegold dog hit by patrol vehicle
On Tuesday, July 4, at 8:01 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of Sioux Road in Coarsegold to assist in attempting to locate an assault suspect. While in route to the call, a dog ran in front of a patrol vehicle. An attempt was made to avoid the dog, however it was stuck by the vehicle. The dog’s owner was located and the dog was dispatched per the request of Animal Control. Case to be closed.

Raymond vandalism
On Tuesday, July 4, at 11:04 p.m., the Madera County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 29 in Raymond regarding a vandalism report. An investigation was completed and a report was written. The case was forwarded to the Madera County Juvenile Probation Department for charges to be filed.

Raymond misdemeanor warrant
On Tuesday, July 4, at 11:04 p.m., the Madera County Sheriff’s Office contacted a subject in the 32000 block of Road 29 in Raymond and the subject was found to have an active misdemeanor warrant. The subject was cited and released. Case closed.

Bass Lake vehicle towed for expired registration
On Wednesday, July 5, at 1:08 a.m., a deputy conducted a self-initiated vehicle check on 54000 block of Road 432. The vehicle was towed for being expired for over one year. Close case.

Oakhurst vandalism of basketball hoop
On Wednesday, July 5, at 6:35 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the block of 49000 Golden Oak Drive regarding vandalism to a basketball hoop. The chain was cut and a report was requested for documentation. Refer report closed until further leads develop.

North Fork person danger to self
On Wednesday, July 5, at 8:36 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the area of Road 200 and Wyle Ranch Road in North Fork for a suspicious person laying on the side of the roadway. The subject was determined to be gravely disabled and a protective hold was placed. The subject was transported to the local hospital for treatment.

Oakhurst domestic violence victim declines to charge accused
On Wednesday, July 5, at 11:31 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a confidential location regarding a domestic incident. The female (victim) requested no charges. She was referred to Victim Services and the Judge denied an EPO. Refer report closed.

Oakhurst counterfeit bills at the drive-through
On Wednesday, July 5, at 1:59 p.m., a deputy responded to a business in the 40000 block of Highway 41 regarding suspects in the drive-through who had passed counterfeit bills on 07-03-2017. Two subjects were interviewed and one was cited for various narcotics and fraud related offenses.

Coarsegold domestic violence arrest after 911 hangup call
On Thursday, July 6, at 4:17 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Hogans Mountain Road regarding a 911 hangup call. It was determined that the crime of domestic violence had occurred. The subject was located and arrested for felony domestic violence and violation of a restraining order.

Bass Lake tenant threatens another
On Thursday, July 6, at 6:13 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to residence in the 40000 block of Road 222 regarding another tenant in the house making threats. The case is open while the deputy attempts to locate the suspect.

Coarsegold property dispute between brothers, shots fired
On Thursday, July 6, at 5:56 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a residence located in the 38000 block of Serpa Canyon Rd. regarding a civil issue over property between two brothers. A subject who discharged a firearm was a convicted felon. He was arrested and transported to ale was later cited and released.

Coarsegold theft of walking cane
On Thursday, June 6, at 7:21 a.m., a deputy responded to a business in the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in Coarsegold regarding a stolen cane. The deputy identified and contacted the suspect and convinced them to return the cane. The owner did not want to press charges. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold found property
On Thursday, July 6, at 9:18 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway in regards to found property. The property was picked up and booked for safe keeping. Close the case.

Coarsegold shots fire, arrest made
On Thursday, July 6, at 11:44 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the area of Road 415 and Douglas Road S in regards to shots fired. Deputy contacted a subject on the side of the road who had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested and booked into the county jail. Close the case.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Thursday, July 6, at 2:46 p.m., a deputy contacted a female adult in the area of Long Hollow / Glacier in Yosemite Springs Park. The subject had an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was arrested and cited on the warrant. Close the case.

North Fork domestic assault
On Thursday, July 6, at 9:44 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 33000 block of Road 224. It was determined a male subject had strangled and slammed his former girlfriends head into the bath tub. The male subject had left prior to deputies arrival. Medical aid was refused and a report was taken to be filed with the Madera County District Attorney’s Office.

Coarsegold dog bite
On Friday, July 7, at 6:39 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to an address in the 31000 block of Blackfoot Road in Coarsegold regarding a dog bite. A case report was taken and should be forwarded to Animal Control.

Oakhurst garage burglary
On Friday, July 7, at 8:02 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Buckeye Road in Oakhurst regarding a burglary to a detached garage. A report taken. Suspend the case due to lack of investigative leads.

Oakhurst residential burglary
On Friday, Joly 7, at 10:25 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 50000 block of China Creek Road in Oakhurst regarding a burglary. A report taken for documentation purposes. Nothing was missing from inside the residence. Suspend the case due to lack of investigative leads.

Oakhurst traffic stop leads to arrest
On Friday, July 7, at 11:45 a.m., a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Hodges Hill and Highway 41 in Oakhurst which resulted in the driver being arrested for an outstanding Madera County arrest warrant. The subject was booked into jail without incident.

North Fork domestic violence
On Friday, July 7, at 2:37 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 32000 block of Road 222 in North Fork regarding domestic violence. A report was taken and charges are being filed. The suspect has not yet been located.

Coarsegold arrest for possession of a dagger
On Friday, July 7, at 9:44 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 32000 block of Meadow Ridge Road in Coarsegold regarding a suspicious subject. An adult male was arrested for being in possession of a dirk / dagger. The subject was cited and released. Case forwarded to the D.A.’s office for charges.

Coarsegold arrest for loaded concealed handgun
On Saturday, July 8, at 12:51 a.m., a deputy contacted an individual on Lucky Lane near CA 41 in a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for being in possession of a loaded handgun concealed on his person. All evidence was collected and booked at the sheriff’s office. The subject was booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections. Case forwarded to the DA’s office for charges.

Coarsegold arrest grand theft of jewelry
On Saturday, July 8, at 5:26 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Horseshoe Drive in the town of Coarsegold regarding possible theft. Upon arrival a suspect was detained and an investigation ensued. It was found the suspect stole around $10,000 in jewelry. All the jewelry was located and returned to the owner. The suspect was arrested for grand theft and booked into Madera County Department of
Corrections. Case closed by arrest.

Coarsegold suicidal male with firearm
On Saturday, July 8, at 9:41 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 30000 block of Horseshoe Drive in Coarsegold, regarding a report of a possibly suicidal male armed with a firearm. During the investigation it was determined the male was a danger to himself due to a mental condition. He was placed on a 5150 W&I hold and transported to a hospital, via ambulance, for evaluation and/or treatment. The firearm was recovered under the authority of 8102 W&I and held for safekeeping at the Sheriff’s Oakhurst Substation Property Warehouse. This case has been closed.

Oakhurst theft of prescription glasses
On Sunday, July 9, at 4:35 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Lindsay Ln regarding a cold theft of prescription glasses. There are no leads, case to be closed.

Coarsegold residential burglary
On Sunday, July 9, at 7:07 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Ranger Circle Dr in Coarsegold regarding a cold residential burglary. There was no leads, case to be closed.
