Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Jan. 31

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Jan. 24 to Jan. 31, 2016:

Oakhurst burglary
On Sunday, Jan. 24 at 7:24 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the parking lot at the intersection of Highway 41 and Road 222 regarding a vehicle burglary. Report taken. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst encampment
On Sunday, Jan. 24 at 9:43 a.m. a deputy was on patrol checking the known properties with homeless encampments. The deputy located on a piece of property at a homeless encampment. The occupants were contacted and issued a citation and advised they had to move off this property.

Oakhurst theft
On Sunday, Jan. 24 at 10:50 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 49 regarding a theft from a vending machine. Report taken. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold burglary
On Sunday, Jan. 24 at 11:40 a.m. a deputy investigated a theft that occurred in the 46000 block of Lucky Lane. Unknown suspect(s) force a vehicle window down and remove several items. There are no suspect(s) at this time. Surveillance footage will be reviewed by employees of the business. Case to be suspended pending review of footage.

North Fork child abuse
On Sunday, Jan. 24 at 10:30 a.m. a deputy dispatched to the 33000 block of Mission Dr. in regards to a child abuse report. An adult male was arrested and booked into the MDOC for child abuse related charges and a case report was written. Case to be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Sunday, Jan. 24 at 8:13 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to an apartment complex located within the 48400 block of Victoria Lane in Oakhurst, regarding a report of a vandalism. During the investigation the estimated value of the damage was determined to be less than $400. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

North Fork theft
On Monday, Jan. 25 at 11:00 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to 32000 block of Ram Drive regarding the theft from a vehicle. Report taken.
Case to be closed.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Monday, Jan. 25 at 1:37 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 48800 block of Royal Oaks Drive for a warrant attempt. The subject was contacted and given a citation for her warrants.

Coarsegold disturbance
On Monday, Jan. 25 at 8:35 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a county road located within the 41700 block of Lilley Mountain Drive regarding a report of an unknown male throwing objects at passing vehicles. No damage to any of the involved vehicles were noted and no one was injured. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

Oakhurst found wallet
On Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 12:08 p.m. a deputy was flagged down at the Madera County Sheriff Department, Oakhurst Substation front parking lot for a report of a found wallet. The wallet was found in a parking lot located in the 40000 block of Highway 49. The wallet was returned to the owner. Case closed.

Coarsegold mail theft
On Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 1:47 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a telephonic theft report that occurred in the area of Oonay Nation Road and Comstock Drive. Unknown person(s) remove an item from the victims’ mailbox. A report was requested by the victim. There were no suspect(s) or witnesses to this theft. Report to be closed due to a lack of investigative leads/ evidence.

Oakhurst Coroner’s Report
On Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 3:32 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to 40000 block of Old Stone Gate Ct regarding a coroner case of an elderly female. Report to be forwarded to the chief deputy coroner.

Oakhurst burglary
On Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 00:28 a.m. a deputy responded to the 40000 blk of Elliott Dr. for a report of a burglary.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 1:34 a.m. a deputy conducted a Subject Check in the 49000 Block of Road 426. The subject matched the description of a subject said to have just committed a burglary in the area. The subject was not the burglary suspect. The subject was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was issued a citation for the warrant and released.

Oakhurst report of wanted subject
On Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 10:55 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst Substation regarding a subject believed he saw one of the wanted subjects from Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Report taken for documentation and referred to Orange County SO for information.

Oakhurst public health report
On Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 8:28 p.m. deputies responded top the 40000 blk of Redbud Dr. for a public health report. During the investigation a subject was turned over to EMS for treatment and a report was generated. Case closed.

Coarsegold missing person located
On Thursday, Jan. 28 at 10:28 p.m. a representative of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office called regarding a missing person being in the Coarsegold area. Fresno Sheriff’s Office had a set of GPS Coordinates for the subject. Fresno Sheriff’s Office was requesting we check the area for the subject. The subject was later located and transported via Sierra Ambulance to Regional Medical Center – Fresno. An Informational Case File was taken to document the incident.

North Fork search and rescue
On Thursday, Jan. 28 at 6:43 p.m. a deputy responded to Mammoth Pool Road within the boundaries of the Sierra National Forest for a report of a vehicle stuck in the snow. Search and Rescue Team members were needed to complete the extraction of the subject. The subject was located and removed from the back country. An Informational Case File was taken to document the incident.

Coarsegold disturbance
On Friday, Jan. 29 at 11:01 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 47000 Road 417 regarding a disturbance. The subject at the residence had an outstanding misdemeanor traffic warrant. He was cited and released at the scene. Refer report closed.

Coarsegold fraud
On Friday, Jan. 29 at 2:20 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst Substation at 48267 Liberty Drive regarding unlawful use of a credit card. The victim requested a report for documentation. Requesting this report be closed.

North Fork remains found
On Friday, Jan. 29 at 4:15 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 221 for a report of a possible human jawbone found in a vacant field. The jawbone was collected and booked into evidence at the Madera County Sheriff Department, Oakhurst Substation to be examined by an anthropologist. Case forward to Detectives.
