Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Jan. 3

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Dec. 27, 2015 through Jan. 3, 2016.

Oakhurst runaway juvenile
On Sunday, Dec. 27 at 00:19 a.m., a deputy flagged down by a citizen in the 45000 block of CA-41 regarding a runaway juvenile. Investigation concluded the juvenile had possibly left the Oakhurst area with some of her friends and was planning on being out of town, resulting in the mother requesting a missing person report be made regarding her daughter.

Coarsegold domestic violence
On Sunday, Dec. 27 at 02:03 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 46000 block of Comstock Drive regarding a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, the deputy contacted the reporting party and possible victim, obtaining their statements. An investigation was started and a report was written. The possible victim did not want to file charges. Documentation only.

Raymond clothing found
On Sunday, Dec. 27 at 12:06 p.m. female clothing was located by employees at a lake in the Raymond area. The clothing was booked into property. A general incident report was written and closed due to no further investigation needed.

North Fork public intoxication
On Sunday, Dec. 27 at 12:56 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a report of an intoxicated subject on the 33100 block of Road 222. Local man arrested and booked for public intoxication.

North Fork warrants arrest
On Monday, Dec. 28 at 7:25 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the North Fork Market to meet with a bail bondsman fugitive warrant agent who had picked up a wanted subject. Subject arrested for outstanding warrants and booked in the county jail. A pistol was found on another subject and the weapon which was taken by the fugitive agent was turned over to MSO and booked into property.
Case to be closed.

Oakhurst man in distress
On Monday, Dec. 28 at 9:37 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of River Park Road regarding a mentally disturbed person who was banging his head on the concrete. Subject taken by ambulance to Madera Community Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst property found
On Monday, Dec. 28 at 12:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-49 regarding found property. Property was booked into evidence at the Madera County Sheriff’s substation in Oakhurst.

Bass Lake theft
On Monday, Dec. 28 at 11:43 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst sub-station regarding a burglary to a cabin in the Central Camp area and the cabin is only accessible by snow mobile. Report taken. Case to be suspended.

Coarsegold vehicle burglary
On Monday, Dec. 28 at 1:38 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of Apache Road in regards to a vehicle burglary. No arrest were made and a case report was written.

Coarsegold domestic violence
On Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 01:30 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 35000 Block of Conway Road regarding a domestic disturbance that occurred in the 29000 block of Longview Lane E. Investigation concluded the male subject had physically assaulted the female, he was arrested, and transported to the Madera County Department of Corrections. Charges forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office.

Oakhurst family disturbance
On Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 4:20 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the High Sierra RV Park (40000 block CA-41 Oakhurst) regarding a family disturbance. Half of the involved parties were contacted at the entrance to the RV park. Per the request of the alleged victim, this case is to be forwarded to the District Attorney for review of charges.

Oakhurst commercial theft
On Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 8:15 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to CVS regarding theft of alcohol from the store. An investigation was conducted and no arrests were made. Report written and case closed.

Oakhurst fraud
On Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 10:56 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation in regards to a fraud report. Upon arrival the victim was contacted and a statement was obtained. There are no suspect(s) in this case. Case to be suspended due to a lack of investigative leads.

Oakhurst marijuana found
On Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 1:39 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-49 in regards to found marijuana in a package. A statement was obtained from the reporting party and the suspected marijuana was seized and later booked into evidence for destruction. Report to be closed.

Oakhurst Coroner’s Report
On Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 3:43 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to respond to a delayed Coroner’s case with the primary physician stipulating to the decedent’s cause of death. This is a natural death case involving only a Coroner’s referral number.

Oakhurst assault
On Thursday, Dec. 31 at 6:54 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to contact an adult male victim at Oakhurst Elementary School regarding an assault that occurred at a nearby address. The victim sustained extensive facial injury. Two adult male suspects were arrested and booked for felony battery. This report is to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Bass Lake burglary
On Thursday, Dec. 31 at 7:13 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 53000 block of Road 432 in regards to a residential burglary report. Upon arrival a statement was obtained from the victim. Forced entry was made into the garage and miscellaneous items were stolen. There are no witnesses or suspect(s) at this time. See narrative for further details.

Coarsegold mail theft
On Thursday, Dec. 31 at 9:55 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to investigate a theft that occurred in the area of Wells Road and Franklin Road. The deputy was instructed to contact the victim who wished to report theft of mail from a community mail box. There are no suspect(s) or physical evidence in this case.

Coarsegold burglary
On Thursday, Dec. 31 at 12:08 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Seminole Drive in regards to a residential burglary report. Upon arrival a statement was obtained from the reporting party. Physical evidence is located and seized for processing. There are currently no suspect(s) or witnesses. Case to be suspended.

Bass Lake search and rescue
On Thursday, Dec. 31 at 3:36 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of Beasore Road and Sky Ranch Road in regards to a Search and Rescue. It is reported that four subjects became stuck in the snow. The subjects are subsequently located and rescued. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold burglary
On Friday, Jan. 1 at 8:07 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of Hogans Mountain Road in regards to a residential burglary report at that location. There were no witnesses, suspects or physical evidence in this case. Cash was stolen from a travel trailer on the property. Case to be suspended.

Coarsegold employees’ disturbance
On Friday, Jan. 1 at 9:29 p.m. deputies responded to a physical disturbance between employees near the employee entrance. An investigation was conducted and all parties were contacted. Neither party wished to file charges against one another and they were turned back over to Casino personnel. A report was written to document the incident. Documentation only.

Oakhurst accidental firearm discharge
On Saturday, Jan. 2 at 12:13 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of Road 220 regarding an accidental discharge of a firearm. Minor injuries, report taken. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold physical disturbance
On Saturday, Jan. 2 at 11:56 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 29000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway in regards to a physical disturbance. An adult male was arrested and booked into the MDOC. Forward the case to the District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.

Bass Lake runaway juvenile
On Saturday, Jan. 2 at 7:44 p.mn. a deputy responded to the 39000 block of Brier Place for a report of a runaway juvenile. An investigation was opened and case file started. Numerous attempts to locate the runaway juvenile have yielded no results.

Coarsegold arrest
On Sunday, Jan. 3 at 5:22 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 32000 block of Woodhill Lane for a family disturbance. First Deputy arrived and confronted the suspect in the driveway. A Struggle between the Deputy and the suspect ensued for a period of time before the deputy could get the suspect detained. A report was written documenting the incident and the suspect was transported to jail.

Oakhurst burglary
On Sunday, Jan. 3 at 9:24 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business residence located within the 50000 block of Hangtree Lane regarding a report of a burglary. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

Oakhurst warrant arrest
On Sunday, Jan. 3 at 10:36 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 41400 block of Highway 49 for a warrant arrest. Upon arrival the subject was located and placed under arrest for the warrant.
