Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Aug. 27

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Aug. 21, to Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017.

Oakhurst aggravated assault
On Monday, Aug. 21 at 12:02 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Mini Mart regarding an assault that occurred behind the Chevron Gas Station located within the 40000 block of CA-41. The victim sustained a deep laceration, about four inches long, to the side of his forehead after reportedly being struck with a metal flashlight. Victim was transported to a hospital for treatment via ambulance. Arrestee was later identified and placed into custody. This case was forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

Oakhurst property found
On Monday, Aug. 21 at 3:10 a.m. a deputy was flagged down in the 40000 block of CA-41 regarding found property. The property was collected and booked into evidence for safe keeping. Case Closed.

Oakhurst Coroner’s report
On Monday, Aug. 21 at 11:21 a deputy responded to a delayed Coroner’s case with the primary physician stipulating to the decedent’s cause of death. This is a natural death case involving only a Coroner’s referral number.

North Fork search and rescue
On Monday, Aug. 21 at 7 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a Search and Rescue at Shadow Lake. Subject in need of assistance was later located and transported to a hospital for treatment.

North Fork missing child found
On Monday, Aug. 21 at 4:31 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of Road 222 and Cedar Lane regarding a report of a missing child. The child was located with his mother.

Coarsegold warrant arrest, citation and release
On Monday, Aug. 21 at 5:30 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a civil call near Robin Hood Drive and Road 416. Upon arrival an investigation ensued and a female subject was found to have three misdemeanor warrants out of Madera County. She was arrested, cited and released on scene for the warrants. Case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Monday, Aug. 21 at 9:25 a.m. a deputy responded to a school in the 50000 block of Road 427 regarding a student who was a danger to others due to their mental condition. A Welfare and Institutions 5150 hold was placed and the patient was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

North Fork felony warrant arrest
On Monday, Aug. 21 at 9:44 p.m. a deputy received information regarding the location of a wanted subject in the 32000 block of Mountain Lane. Upon arrival a male subject was contacted and arrested on a felony warrant out of Madera County. He was later transported and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections. During the incident a female subject was contacted and she was found to have a misdemeanor warrant also out of Madera County. She was arrested, cited and released on scene. Case closed by arrest.

Coarsegold narcotics
On Monday, Aug. 21 at 11:21 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding the possibility a controlled subject was found. There were suspects identified with the substance. The substance was booked into the Property Room at the Oakhurst Substation for destruction.

Oakhurst shots fired into windows of residence
On Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 1:29 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Ely Way regarding a shots fired call. Upon arrival, it is determined that a firearm had been used to to shoot out windows of the residence. Photographs were taken at the scene. There are no investigative leads and the case is closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 3:05 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding theft. Upon arrival an investigation ensued and a report was written. No charges are to be pressed per the victim. This report is for documentation. Case closed.

Coarsegold commercial burglary
On Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 6:29 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway due to a commercial burglary. Evidence was gathered, subjects were contacted and arrested. Stolen property and money was returned. A juvenile was booked into the Madera Juvenile hall. Charges were filed, evidence was booked into the Sheriff’s Office and a report was written.

Oakhurst Coroner’s report
On Tuesday, Aug. 22 at at 2:47 p.m. a deputy responded to a delayed Coroner’s case with the primary physician stipulating to the decedent’s cause of death. This is a natural death case involving only a Coroner’s referral number.

Oakhurst mental health evaluation hold
On Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 5:06 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Victoria Lane regarding a male subject reported to be in need of a mental health evaluation hold. The subject was subsequently placed on a W&I 5150 hold and transported to a hospital by EMS for a mental health evaluation. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst weapons, narcotics and counterfeit currency
On Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 9:07 p.m. a deputy initiated a traffic stop on CA-41 and CA-49 for expired expiration. During the investigation the driver was found to be a convicted felon in possession of two loaded firearms, ammunition, narcotics, drug paraphernalia and counterfeit currency. The vehicle was towed at the scene. The suspect was booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections. Forward the case to
the Madera County District Attorneys office for charges and to the United States Secret Service for the counterfeit currency.

Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest For Drugs, Guns And Fake Money

Coarsegold agency assist with burglary suspects
On Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. the Madera County Sheriff’s Office was requested to assist Fresno Police Department in locating a male subject and a stolen pickup truck that is related to nine different burglaries in the City of Fresno. Deputy followed up on information and located the male subject with the reported stolen pickup along with two other stolen vehicles in the 39000 block of Lilley Mountain Drive in the town of Coarsegold. The male subject and a female subject were detained and turned over to Fresno Police Department detectives. The three located stolen vehicles were impounded. Case closed.

North Fork public intoxication
On Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 7:28 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 57000 block of Road 225 regarding an intoxicated female subject yelling and throwing items with her pants down. Upon arrival it was found the female subject was heavily intoxicated and unable to care for herself. She was subsequently arrested, transported and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections. Case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst public intoxication
On Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 9:45 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 4000 block of CA-41 in regards to an intoxicated subject. The subject was not able to care for himself and was arrested. The subject was booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections. Forward to the Madera County District Attorney’s office for charges. Forward to Mariposa County Probation Department for violation of probation.

Oakhurst public intoxication
On Thursday, Aug. 24 at 9:29 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 regarding a subject who refused to leave the property. He was arrested and later turned over to EMS due to being intoxicated. Refer report closed as he was released per 849b to EMS.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Thursday, Aug. 24 at midnight, a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of CA 41 / Hwy 49 which resulted in the driver being cited on a warrant. Close the case.

Oakhurst burglary
On Thursday, Aug. 24 at 12:38 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Maples Lane regarding a burglary. The suspect broke into the residence and left property near the roadway. The property was recovered by a passerby and turned over to Law Enforcement. The victim was later contacted. Refer report suspended until further leads develop.

Oakhurst robbery
On Thursday, Aug. 24 at 3:43 p.m. a deputy contacted a resident of the 40000 block of Redbud regarding a robbery that took place in Oakhurst. Suspect has not been identified. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold narcotics
On Friday, Aug. 25 at 1:42 a.m. a deputy conducted a vehicle stop on CA-41 and Yosemite Springs Parkway. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for being in possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended driver’s license. All evidence was booked at the Sheriff’s Office. Case forwarded to the DA’s office for charges.

Bass Lake ammo requested to be destroyed
On Friday, Aug. 25 at 10:04 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation regarding ammunition that the reporting party wanted to dispose of. Ammunition was later booked for destruction. Report for documentation purposes only.

Ahwahnee burglary
On Friday, Aug. 25 at 11:19 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 Peterson Creek Road regarding a possible burglary. Report taken for documentation. Refer report suspended until further leads develop.

Oakhurst juvenile danger to self
On Friday, Aug. 25 at 12:21 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of School Road regarding a female juvenile who made suicidal statements. Deputy arrived on scene and, after evaluating the female, she was placed on a 5150 W&I hold. Female juvenile was later transported to Valley Children’s Hospital for evaluation.

Oakhurst credit card fraud
On Friday, Aug. 25 at 1:27 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to 40000 Block of Country Lane regarding unlawful use of a credit card. Report taken for documentation. Refer report closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Saturday, Aug. 26 at 12:03 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 46000 Lucky Lane regarding a subject who was caught shoplifting by security. The item was returned and the suspect was not identified. Refer report suspended until suspect is identified.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Saturday, Aug. 26 at 12:17 p.m. deputies made contact with a female who lives in the 39000 block of Road 425b. The female was found to be a danger to herself and gravely disabled and was placed on Welfare and Institutions 5150 hold. Case to be closed.

Bass Lake narcotics found
On Saturday, Aug. 26 at 12:52 p.m. a deputy responded to a house in the 39000 block of Granite Ridge Lane regarding found narcotics. The suspected narcotics were booked for destruction.

North Fork warrant arrest
On Saturday, Aug. 26 at 1:31 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 33000 Block of Road 222 regarding an assault. No charges were requested by either party, but the female had a misdemeanor warrant. She was cited and released. Refer report closed.

Coarsegold narcotics and felon in possession of ammo
On Sunday, Aug. 27 at 1:20 a.m. a deputy conducted a vehicle check on Road 415 and Trabuco Mountain Road. An adult male was arrested for being a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of burglary tools. An adult female was arrested for violating a restraining order. The male was booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections and the female was cited and released. Case forwarded to the DA’s office for charges.
