Sheriff Requests Charges Be Filed In Casino Takeover

MADERA COUNTY – Sheriff John Anderson today announced that after reviewing evidence gathered from the Oct. 9 incident at the Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino, he is asking that charges be filed in the case.

At least 11 individuals have been identified, and are believed to have committed numerous felonies during a take-over attempt, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Reports have been submitted to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office, and Sheriff Anderson says he hopes the D.A. will file charges against these individuals. The investigation continues, and detectives believe more criminal complaints may be filed with the D.A.’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office says the names of those identified are not being released at this time, as the case is still ongoing.
