Sheriff Identifies Deceased Man Found Near Eastman Lake

MADERA COUNTY — A deceased male discovered in the Eastman Lake area on Oct. 14 has been identified by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

The body of Merced resident Ramiro F. Carrillo, age 42, was found just before noon at the south end of the lake near the spillway, by a Christian scouting group out of Fresno County known as the Royal Rangers. They were on a sectional camp-out at the lake and were collecting trash along the shoreline when they came upon the body.

The scout leader contacted the Eastman Lake Park Ranger who notified authorities.

The cause of death has not yet been released pending the coroner’s report.
