Sheriff Asks Public’s Help In Possible Attempted Abduction Case

RAYMOND – The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in gathering information related to an incident that occurred on May 27, around 1:45 p.m. near the Raymond Post Office on Road 600.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a female juvenile walking in the area was approached by at least one male subject who was driving a midsize SUV, described as brown or gold in color.

The male subject asked the female juvenile if she wanted a ride, and when the female juvenile denied the offer, the male demanded that she enter his vehicle.

The female became frightened and ran away, hiding in a nearby back yard. The male driver left the scene, and remains unidentified at this time.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is seeking identification of the male subject(s). If anyone has information related to this incident, or possible related incidents in the area, please contact their office at (559) 675-7770.

They also advise residents to always remain alert and report any suspicious activity to their office.
