OAKHURST — Their charity ride was a great success and the benefits locally are appreciable, as the Sierra Shadow Casters Motorcycle Club recently presented a $1,000 donation to the Children’s Museum of the Sierra to support the organization nonprofit to nonprofit.
The funds were raised by the Club’s motorcycle poker run through Yosemite last May, known as the Sierra Memorial Run. The annual fundraising event just completed its 9th year and garners support from mountain and valley motorcyclists who donate to go on a ride.
Each year the Shadow Casters select a different charitable organization for whom they are the benefactor. This year, the recipient was the Children’s Museum.
The Children’s Museum of the Sierra is an internationally known interactive museum designed for kids 2 to 12 and features over 4,000 square feet of hands-on learning activities. The museum is not only a local favorite, but valley parents and visitors from all over bring their kids to enjoy the learning adventure.
The SSC, MC is a charitable organization founded in 2003 and based in Coarsegold, Calif. Their motto is “Riding for Others.”
