Senator Borgeas’ Resolution Honoring California Farmer and Farmworker Month Approved by Senate Unanimously

SACRAMENTO – Senate Agriculture Committee Chair Andreas Borgeas (R-Fresno) presented Senate Resolution 54 today, which recognizes the month of October as California Farmer and Farmworker Month. Senate Resolution 54 was approved by the Senate unanimously.

“As Chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee and a representative of one of the most productive agricultural regions in the world, I was proud to present SR 54, which commemorates the month of October as California Farmer and Farmworker Month,” said Senator Borgeas.

“California’s agricultural industry supports an estimated 1.2 million jobs and provides $263 billion in total generated revenue for the state. It is important that we take a moment to recognize those who keep our shelves stocked, food on our tables, and our economy strong.”

October was selected as the month for California Farmer and Farmworker Month because it marks the end of harvest. You can show support for California agriculture by using #CAGrown on social media.
