Schools Cancel Mid-Day Due To Smoke

OAKHURST — Both Yosemite High School and schools in the Bass Lake School District have called school early due to the poor air quality and current conditions.

According to the Bass Lake School District transportation page, YHS released at 11:20 and Oakhurst Elementary, Oak Creek Intermediate, Wasuma, and Fresno Flats will release at 11:30.

If you do not want your child dropped at home, please call the school and they will be returned to the school until they can be picked up. All Kindergarten students who have no one there to pick them up will be returned to the school also. We are sorry for the short notice and inconvenience. Please help get the word out. — Bass Lake Unified School District transportation

To All YHS students, parents and alternative schools on the YHS site. Students will be released at 11:20 this morning, and buses will depart at 11:30 from YHS site. Due to the shift in the wind this morning it is hazardous for students to remain on campus because of smoke. Parents may pick up student now. — Yosemite High School
