Scenic Byway Free Photographic Tour

MADERA COUNTY – Take advantage of this opportunity to not only spend time on the beautiful Sierra Vista National Scenic Byway, but to learn from the pros about the best way to photograph to amazing vistas, flora and wildlife.

Join local photographers Roger Robinette and Gay Abarbanell, with a little help from Joanne Freemire, as they conduct a free photographic tour on Saturday, July 13.These seasoned photographers will coach tour participants in the best way to photograph scenery and foliage, and perhaps some of the denizens of the forest who may wander by.

Hosts promise a fun and relaxing day on the Byway, visiting locations you may not have seen before.

Participants are asked to gather at the Bass Lake Pines upper parking lot at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 13. The tour is free, and your are asked to bring your own lunch, or pick up a burger or other goodies at the Jones Store during the tour.

Mark your calendar for another opportunity in August as National Forest Service Volunteer of the Year, Brenda Negley, shares well-known and secret places in Nelder Grove. If you haven’t been to the grove, or even if you have, this will be a delightful day.

This tour will be Saturday, August 10, 9 a.m. at Mountain House Restaurant Parking lot at Highway 41 and Bass Lake Road 222. There is no cost, bring a picnic lunch.
