OAKHURST – Yosemite High School teacher and golf coach Rusty Oetinger has been named new Athletic Director for the school as of July 1. Oetinger takes over in the footsteps of Michele Chenowith.
“I have been working closely with Michele to learn the job,” says Oetinger. “She did an outstanding job for the last three years. Her organizational skills are really helping with the transition, and she’s built a great foundation for allowing me to expand on what she has done.”
Oetinger is excited about the new opportunities he’s presented with as Athletic Director for YHS Badger sports, and he’s got high hopes.
“I am bringing the Positive Youth Development that I have been doing with The First Tee to our campus,” he explains. “My training with The First Tee and as a National Coach Trainer will allow me to do coach training that will raise the bar for all of our athletic programs.”
