Rotary Club Remodels Social Services Lobby

MADERA — Thanks to the efforts of the Rotary Club of Madera and Danny Morris, deputy director of the Madera County Department of Social Services, the lobby area of the 629 E. Yosemite building has been transformed into a warm and colorful area.

Morris is a Rotary member and volunteered on the remodel project, completed Feb. 17.

“The Rotary Club of Madera continues to be the greatest club in the galaxy with all the wonderful work they do for the children and families served by Social Services,” says Morris. “It is greatly appreciated by those families and our department as a whole.”

A mural of flowers adorns the wall next to the reception desk, and combined with the vibrant colors, offers an environment of comfort and kindness.

It is important that families feel comfortable here, Morris said. The building houses the child welfare, employment training, In-Home Supportive Services, adult protective services and clerical staff.

“The bright colors lends themselves to a child-friendly environment, and the mural truly supports the ideals that Social Services is here to assist individuals and families during difficult times, similar to offering someone a gift as simple as a bouquet of flowers.”
