OAKHURST – Too much speed and an abundance of deer in the area may have contributed to a crash on Road 426 this evening.
Just after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 15, a resident of Apple Valley was westbound on Road 426 in a Honda CRX when he apparently came into a corner too fast and rolled his car.
The driver told CHP there was a deer in the road and he was trying to avoid hitting it.
Madera County Fire Department Engine 12 responded along with Cal Fire Engine 4255. Sierra ambulance was also dispatched but the driver was not injured.
Traffic control was put in place, letting through one lane at a time until the scene was cleared some 45 minutes later.
