At about 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, Elfie Slayton, of Oakhurst, was westbound on Road 426 at Hangtree Lane, when she apparently dozed off and lost control of her 1998 Lexus LS.

Madera County Fire Department Engine 12 was at the scene within minutes, followed by Engine 17 and Sierra Ambulance.
