NORTH FORK — A single-vehicle rollover near the bridge at Fine Gold Creek reduced traffic to one lane for over 90 minutes this morning.

Just before 8 a.m. on Thursday, Apr. 21, two brothers, both from North Fork, were on their way down to the Valley, westbound on Road 200 in a 2011 Nissan Versa at a stated speed of 50-52 mph.

The driver told CHP that he took the corner too wide coming through the Fine Gold Creek bridge and then over-corrected, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The Nissan came to rest on the center line, obstructing both lanes of traffic. CHP pushed it over into the east-bound lane to allow for one-lane traffic control while awaiting the tow truck.

Cal Fire Engine 4255 out of Rancheria Station responded, along with firefighters from Madera County Station 11 and Sierra Ambulance. According to CHP, the driver was uninjured, and the passenger had complaints of only minor pain and declined transport.

Drugs or alcohol were not reported to have been a factor in the accident.
