Robert Moye Jr. Sentenced for the Unlawful Killing of Galen Lee

MADERA – On August 20, 2020, Robert Eugene Moye Jr. Was sentenced to 9 years in state prison for the unlawful killing of Galen Lee. Galen was well loved by his family, community and tribe.

The courtroom and hallways were full of family and friends that expressed the great love and loss the community of North Fork experienced with the death of Gaylen Lee.  Family members described Mr. Lee as a man dedicated to his family and his heritage; a man with a wealth of knowledge of the Mono tribe and its ancestry.  He was a great teacher, mentor, friend, husband, uncle and grandfather.

Galen was killed on July 6, of 2019 near his home on Cascadel Drive, Road 233, North Fork.

Moye pled no contest to homicide on July 22, 2020 and was sentenced on August 20, 2020.
