I am seeking this position and would appreciate your support and vote, this is a 4 year term and I believe I will make a positive impact for the district.
My first and foremost concerns are for the children, and that the district will remain financially sound for the children of today and for the children of the future.
I believe that owning my own insurance agency for the past 10 years that I am capable of understanding finances and budgets. Also, being a supervisor in the construction trade, I know and understand deadlines and contracts.
I am an active member of The La Sierra Guild of Valley Children’s Hospital, the local Realtor’s Association as an Affiliate, and a volunteer member of the American Red Cross. And for the past two years I have been on the Site Council at Oakhurst Elementary School.
My wife Deborah and I purchased a home in Coarsegold, CA in November 2009, and became full time residence in 2010.
We are a blended family of 8 children, four each, the youngest two are 28 and the oldest is 34. We have 5 grandchildren, 2 of which we are raising, one is 8 and the other is 3. Our 3-year-old granddaughter was born blind with a disease known as ONH, our 8-year-old grandson was just diagnosed as Dyslexic. Both grandchildren are in IEP programs, one in the YUSD and the other in Bass Lake Unified School District.
The reason I am seeking this position of trustee, is that I have an interest in making sure we have the best schools and resources for the children. If it were not for my two grandchildren, I would probably not be seeking this position. Life is funny and complicated, and raising children a second time around, I understand more of what is needed for all children, not just my own. As young adults, not all of them have the time or resources to get involved.
I am asking for your support and vote for the position of Trustee because I believe I will make a positive impact for the future of our children, and I believe that the children’s future is our now.
