Rib Fest Returns To Community Center

OAKHURST – Everyone is invited to come out and support the Oakhurst Community Center and celebrate its 50th Anniversary, as the all-you-can-eat extravaganza known annually as Rib Fest takes place on Saturday, June 20.

Arrive hungry and leave the fancy clothes at home, because this is a night where food, friends, and fundraising take center stage.

Proceeds benefit the Oakhurst Community Center, where people from around the foothills go to vote, play bingo, seek refuge from disaster, and once a year, eat delicious ribs with all the right fixings, until they can eat no more.

Doors open at 5:30 and dinner starts at 7 p.m.

Sponsors for the event include Sierra Tel, Sunrise Rotary, Sierra Oakhurst Kiwanis, Sullivan’s Tire Pros, Yosemite Bank, Mountain Community Women, and Soroptimist International.

Tickets to Rib Fest are $25 per person or $10 for anyone under 10 years old. Diners can look forward to buckets of ribs, famous Soroptimist beans and coleslaw, warm garlic bread, desserts by Mountain Community Women, a no-host bar, and more ribs.

Organizers are working hard this very minute to prepare an abundance of items for the raffle, including a mystery gift basked valued at $250. In addition, door prizes await the lucky. Live auction items are expected to include a High-wheel Field Mower/Trimmer, four tickets to Disneyland, and $500 worth of services from the vets at Hoof ‘n Paw, with more items being added daily.

Purchase tickets in advance at Oakhurst Giftworks, Yosemite Bank, and Dorsey’s Hallmark, or contact Sharon Smith (559) 683-2290 and Dottie Lee (559) 683-5119.

Tickets will also be available at the door.
