MOUNTAIN AREA — Local Realtor Ed Bailey of Ed Bailey Realty in Oakhurst reports that January-through-March 2020 home sales increased significantly compared to sales activity during the same period in 2019.
Forty six mountain area homes were sold in Q1 2020, Bailey reported, compared to 36 sales during the same period last year.
The median purchase price was $315,875, increasing roughly 2 percent from Q1 2019’s median price of $309,950.
During the first quarter of 2020, homes were on the market an average of 88 days, compared to 104 days last year, Bailey also reported.
And the local real estate market remained relatively firm in early 2020, with the purchase price averaging 96 percent of asking price, compared to 97 percent last year.
The average price per square foot of houses sold in Q1 2020 was $179.48, compared to $174.49 last year during the same period.
