Missing North Fork Man Located by MADSAR

Kenneth CloseMADERA COUNTY — On Wednesday evening, Madera County Search & Rescue (MADSAR) asked for the public to keep an eye out for a missing person.

Kenneth Close, 79, went to North Fork yesterday morning to buy a lawn mower. He called his wife at 11 a.m. and told her he was going fishing at Lower Chiquito Creek, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

His intended route was to come down Beasore Road on the way home. Kenneth’s wife hadn’t seen or head from him since.

He was reportedly driving a 1997 green Chevy pickup with a red door, disabled license plate DP481AG, and pulling a trailer.

Just after midnight this morning, Close was located by a MADSAR 4×4 unit up Beasore Rd stuck in the snow. He was uninjured and reunited with his wife. Searchers had to use specialized 4×4 units in order to access the area due to the accumulated snow.

MADSAR would like to thank the public for keeping an eye out!.
