Premiere Mobile Home Living In Oakhurst

Business Feature – Oakhurst Mobile Home Estates

When Mike and Christina Waiczis were asked to relocate to Oakhurst Mobile Home Estates (OMHE) last year to become the park’s new Resident Managers, they felt truly blessed.

Why wouldn’t they? Coming from what they experienced as the starkness of the Mojave Desert, Oakhurst was like paradise to the grateful couple.

Oakhurst Mobile Home Estates (OMHE) is a beautiful and peaceful 55+ park ideal for retirees looking for a safe and quiet place to live, says Christina.

“This residential community offers homes for independent living or those looking to stay active, nestled in the picturesque landscape of the Central Sierra.”

The park is located along Road 425B (Fresno Flats) immediately next to the Community Center and the Senior Center. It features a peaceful pastoral setting with abundant trees, flowers and wildlife, and is part of the culturally rich Central Sierra. It is also close to Bass Lake, the Sierra National Forest, Giant Sequoias and Yosemite National Park.

“For those wishing to retire in the mountains, Oakhurst Mobile Home Estates may be just the place you’ve been looking for,” says Christina.

The new Resident Managers have spent the past year working hard to bring improvements to the park. While they note that the park was beautiful when they arrived, it was their goal to continue to enhance the community.

A gardening company was employed to revamp the landscaping and keep the ground extra clean, and new directional signs were designed and installed throughout. The interior roadways were patched and re-coated, and the many trees in the community were trimmed and made safe.

Plans are currently in the works for the renovation of the Clubhouse facility, including the laundry and shuffleboard game area, and outdoor features such as lamp posts are being repainted.

OMHE 1Aside from its best amenity— the peaceful pastoral setting— the park maintains a community Clubhouse with a huge recreation room equipped with a large screen TV, a billiards room and library, two laundry facilities, and a full kitchen for residents and their guests. The park also has an active Social Club that offers an assortment of activities, says Christina.

The Oakhurst Community Center and Senior Center are located next door to the park, offering residents a variety of ways to participate in the community. With the Sierra National Forest just minutes away and the entrance to Yosemite National Park only 14 miles from Oakhurst, there is an array of outdoor activities year round.

Folks currently residing in the park come from all parts of the country, says Christina, and they look out after one another while respecting the importance of individual privacy. She adds that all the residents at the park are very friendly and have a high sense of community.

At this time, the park has several renovated mobile homes for sale and four vacant spaces available on which to move new units.

“We offer many unique floor plans to choose from, so come visit us soon,” says Christina.
