Power Outage Update from PG&E

We are responding to two types of outages related to the strong wind storm that is moving through our service territory.

First, we have initiated a targeted Public Safety Power Shutoff for select areas of several counties locally.

In total, this event The PSPS event will affect approximately 5,200 customer accounts including 282 Medical Baseline customers in seven counties in Central California.

Two main factors led to this Public Safety Power Shutoff, high wind speeds that could cause flying debris to damage power lines, and extremely dry vegetation.

We also are responding to widespread outages related to the wind storm, but not caused by the Public Safety Power Shutoff.

Below is a breakdown of totally outages locally.

Fresno Division (Fresno, Kings, Tulare counties) – 4,620 customers out, 2,797 storm related, 1,823 out due to PSPS.

Yosemite Division (portions of most counties between Madera and Modesto) – 24,215 customers out, 21,692 storm related, 2,523 PSPS.

Another update on outage numbers is expected between 3 and 4 p.m.
