Power Knocked Out To Over 1,100 Homes After Crash

COARSEGOLD — Hundreds of Coarsegold residents were without power for several hours after a pickup hit a power pole on Road 415 near Texas Flat Mine Road.

At about 5:40 p.m. this afternoon, calls came in to 911 that a truck had hit a power pole and there were live power lines and a pole across both lanes of Road 415 just west of Highway 41.

Over 1,100 PG&E customers were without power, but by 8:30 p.m., all but 28 homes had their power restored.

CHP responded, along with Cal Fire and Madera County Fire, and the road was closed in both directions as repairs were made.

According to CHP, there were four people in the vehicle, but only minor injuries were reported and all declined to be transported for medical treatment.
