Plant-a-Row Program To Soon Begin Accepting Fresh Produce Donations

Image of fruits and vegetables. The UC Master Gardeners of Mariposa County are now overseeing the Plant-a-Row Program, which was established by Mariposa resident, Susan Taber, a few years ago. Partnering with several local growers, such as Raw Roots Farm, Shasky Farms, House of Greens, and Serrano Farms, along with other local groups, the Master Gardeners are helping to arrange the collection and distribution of fresh produce to the community. Local residents who are growing fruits and/or vegetables are invited to participate and donate any extra produce they may have.

Beginning on July 12, 2021, fresh produce donations will be accepted at Heritage House, 5200 State Hwy 49N, on MONDAYS ONLY from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at Manna House, 5127 Charles St., on Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Donators will be asked to note their name, the item being donated and its weight at collection sites. The sites will then be distributing the produce. Additional collection sites are being pursued and will be publicized as arrangements are made.

For more information, please contact the UC Master Gardeners of Mariposa County at 209-966-2417 or smace@ucanr.edu.
