Origami Christmas Workshop at Oakhurst Library

OAKHURST- The Oakhurst Library is pleased to host a workshop presented by Carla Hyatt from Bakersfield.

At the class, participants will make three sculpted Christmas cards using the ancient art of folding paper into various shapes.

Carla is a retired math teacher and often used origami to demonstrate mathematical principles to her middle-school students.Origami helped her teach fractions and geometry and now she is applying her skills to making these unique Christmas cards.

“Give one-of-a-kind, handcrafted Christmas cards this year using origami. Have fun and make something special, too,” says Carla.

Anyone aged 11 and older is invited (children and adults). But, the class is limited to the first 40 people to pre-register at 559-683-4838. All supplies will be provided. Each student will be making the cards and can take the cards with them when they leave the class. Thank you to FOBL for sponsoring this event.
