MOUNTAIN AREA — A number of opportunities are available locally for adults seeking to further their education, through Yosemite Adult School.
English as a Second Language classes are offered on Tuesdays in Oakhurst and on Thursdays in Coarsegold, and a computer class is offered in Wednesdays in Oakhurst.
- On Tuesday nights they offer English as a Second Language classes in Oakhurst from 6 – 7:30 p.m. This course is “open enrollment” and therefore students may enroll at time. The class is taught next to the Yosemite Adult Classroom near the football field.
- Thursday nights they offer the English as a Second Language classes in Coarsegold from 6 – 7:30 p.m. This course is “open enrollment” and therefore students may enroll at time. This class is taught on the Coarsegold Elementary School Campus in Room 808. Room 808 is located off Meadowbrook Ln between the lower field and the bus barn.
Both of these classes are planned to continue being taught throughout the summer. The instructor is Kathy Kabbani.
- YAS instructors are also teaching “Basic Computer Class” on Wednesday nights from 6 – 8 p.m. This class is taught in the Adult School Computer lab. This room is across the parking lot from the football field.
