One-Way Traffic Control Delays Expected on State Route 49 and 140

MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will
perform various operations on State Routes 49 and 140 next week in Mariposa County.
Work is scheduled to be performed as follows:
Route 49
• Intermittent lane closures from the Madera/Mariposa County Line to Varain Road
for striping operations beginning Sunday, September 12, through Friday,
September 17, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
• Intermittent lane closures from the Madera/Mariposa County Line to Varain Road
for drainage work beginning Monday, September 13, through Friday, September
17, 2021, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Route 140
• One-way traffic control from Briceburg Road to Foresta Road in El Portal
beginning Monday, September 13, through Saturday, September 18, 2021, from
6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Intermittent lane closures from Slate Gulch to Sweetwater Creek in Briceburg for
drainage work beginning Monday, September 13, through Friday, September 17,
2021, from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Intermittent lane closures on Route 140 from 3rd Street to Coakley Circle in
Mariposa for curb, gutter and sidewalk work beginning Sunday, September 12,
through Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. as part of the
Mariposa Pedestrian Safety project.

Motorists should expect 10-minute delays and take alternate routes whenever possible.
This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic
incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related
issues.
