COARSEGOLD – Elijah Johnson, 22, of Coarsegold is facing DUI charges and resisting arrest following a crash on Highway 41 in Coarsegold.

Shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday night, Lieutenant Tyson Pogue of the Madera County Sheriff’s Office was southbound on Highway 41, just south of Road 417, when he saw a large plume of dust.As he got closer he could see that a vehicle had just crossed the center divider, and crash into a fence in front of a local Smoke Shop.
