OAKHURST – The California Carvers Guild celebrates the 10th annual Oakhurst Woodcarver’s Rendezvous at the Oakhurst Community Center during the week of Sunday, Apr. 23 through Saturday, Apr. 29. Woodcarvers travel from around the state and beyond attend this special week of carving and camaraderie.
The Rendezvous is made up of carving sessions, demonstrations, and seminars for all level of carvers: beginning, intermediate and advanced, along with crafts and programs for spouses and significant others. The event offers arts and craft programs along with the opportunity to rest and shop in the beautiful Central Sierra.

Carvers will bring their own carving knives, tools and equipment. In addition to carving workshops and programs, the price also includes coffee each morning, Kiwanis breakfast, a couple of dinners and a pot luck dinner.
On the last day, there’s a Woodcarving Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors will be treated to displays of carvers in action, live demonstrations and a vast selection of finished projects, some of which will be available for purchase. There’s even an Open Pinewood Derby Outlaw Race.
The general public is welcome to stop in throughout the week, free of charge, to observe. Lodging arrangements have been made with various locales where those attending Woodcarvers’ Rendezvous receive a special rate. Check the website for details.
