Oakhurst Transient Arrested For The 47th Time

OAKHURST – An Oakhurst man, claiming to be a transient, sits behind bars for the 47th time, after the sheriff’s office was alerted to a man peering into parked cars in Oakhurst yesterday.

Citizens reported seeing a man, later identified as Bodie Press, 32, looking into cars in the parking lot at Oakhurst Park.

Deputy Paul Chetwood later found the inebriated subject kneeling outside a liquor store off Highway 41.

Press has a lengthy arrest record, dating back to 2008, which includes public intoxication, resisting arrest, interfering with an officer, and driving under the influence, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Currently on probation, Press remains jailed without bail.
