Oakhurst Practice Offers Free Dentistry Day

OAKHURST – The dental practice of Doctors Rodney Peter and Dennis Jones have a plan to put smiles on the faces of many local residents as they open their doors to offer free dental treatment on Friday, Dec. 7, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The new office is located at 49255 Golden Oak Loop.

Treatment is being offered for adults and children who do not have dental insurance and cannot otherwise afford to see a dentist. Patients will be seen on a first come, first served basis, for a single-appointment procedure. Cleanings will be done only on children under age 14.

Doctors Bob Brosi and Barbara Kelly also plan to participate in Free Dentistry Day, serving patients at the same location on Golden Oak Loop for that day only. Dr. Ryan Franklin will be referred a select number of patients for procedures to be performed in his office at a later date.

Support staff and assistants will also be present for this annual community outreach.

“Our lab will do minor repairs on dentures and partials,” according to the front office. “We are unable to do crowns, bridges or 3rd molar extractions that day.” They request that patients with questions about procedures call the office.

Free Dentistry Day in Oakhurst was initiated by Dr. Jones 19 years ago and Dr. Peter has been in on the program for 11 years. Their new office complex, built from the ground up, opened on September 10. Drs. Peter and Jones were hands-on in designing the new space; Jenny Peter coordinated the interior design.

“This year we will be able to see more patients in our new office as we have more treatment rooms available and more doctors providing care,” say the principals. “All the doctors and staff feel very fortunate to be part of the mountain community and take this opportunity to thank the community for their support.”
