Oakhurst Murder Victim Died Of Multiple Stab Wounds

OAKHURST — The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has announced that the female victim of last night’s homicide died of multiple stab wounds to the head and torso.

The victim’s name has not yet been released pending notification of relatives.

The woman was found deceased in a pickup that crashed on Highway 41 near River Falls Road north of Oakhurst just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15.  Another occupant of the vehicle was taken to a Fresno hospital to be treated for multiple stab wounds.

george-taylor-windsorGeorge Taylor-Windsor, 26, was taken into custody and remains behind bars charged with murder and attempted murder. He is being held on a $1 million bond.

“We had what appeared to be a pretty major disturbance going on inside the vehicle which ended up in a crash on Highway 41,” Madera County Sheriff Jay Varney told ABC30.

Varney said that Taylor-Windsor then ran about half mile to a house calling for help, apparently in an attempt to disguise his role in the incident, and make himself look like a victim.

ABC30 reporter Gene Haagenson says that all those involved knew each other and that at least two were working for a subcontractor clearing dead trees in the area.
