Oakhurst Community Christmas Tree Lighting

OAKHURST – The Oakhurst Community Christmas Tree Lighting is set for Saturday, Dec. 6, with festivities starting at 5 p.m., at Ditton’s Talking Bear Corner at the junction of Hwy 41 and Road 426.

The public is invited to attend this family-friendly holiday evening. It’s a delightful way for neighbors to celebrate the holidays together as hundreds of people attend the event, and kids line up to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus in person.

This is an evening you don’t want to miss. Carols fill the air as Chamber Maids and the Yosemite High School Chamber singers wow the crowd with songs of the season. When the massive tree is lit, the crowd gasps in delight.

The temps will be chilly, so hot, delicious coffee is provided by Starbucks. Hot cider and cocoa will be given out by Sierra Lions Club courtesy of Gold Country Water.

SantaCookies will be served thanks to Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce and Century 21 Ditton Realty will be handing out the hot dogs.

Fun for kids includes pine cone decorating, along with a petting zoo and pony rides, weather permitting. Petting zoo and pony rides are courtesy of McGoldrick & McGoldrick and Dr. Rodney Peter, DDS.

Don’t forget to stop by the Sierra Telephone booth and pick up free books for kids.
