Oakhurst CHP Office Seeks Office Assistant

OAKHURST – The office of the California Highway Patrol in Oakhurst is advertising to fill the position of Office Assistant.

If you are an organized individual with good typing skills, this may be your opportunity. This is a full time position available only to persons on a current eligibility list who have already taken an exam through Cal HR for this job classification.

The job pays between $2,143 and $2,911 per month depending on qualifications. No testing is being given at this time. If you have not already tested, you may not apply.

Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Office Services Supervisor I, this position will be responsible for photocopying arrest and accident reports for Area files, mail-outs, and court filing. Processes criminal and civil subpoenas for the Area; processes CHP 180s, Vehicle Storage Report; completes mail requests from insurance companies and the public; data entry of Area Arrest Reports into AIS; and data entry and processing of CHP 215s, Notice to Appear.

Other Duties: Provides periodic front counter relief, answers phones, serves as receptionist, schedules car seat and VIN appointments, photocopies and sells accident reports.

Desirable Qualifications: Must be tactful and maintain a good rapport with other employees, peers, and supervisors. Must be dependable, have excellent attendance, and ability to work independently. Confidentiality is essential in this position.
