Oakhurst Chamber Seeks New Executive Director

Oakhurst Chamber 300x160OAKHURST – The Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a dynamic, forward-looking individual to serve as Executive Director, who possesses skills in the areas of social media, marketing, public relations, public speaking and event management.

Darin J. Soukup, Ph.D., who has served as Executive Director since 2011, has accepted a position within the State Center Community College District as the new Director of the Oakhurst Community College campus.

“Although we are sorry to see Darin leave to pursue this new and exciting opportunity, the Chamber organization continues to be in very good hands,” says Dan Rule, 2015 Chamber President and chair of the Executive Search Committee.

Rule says he is looking forward to interviewing applicants for the position.

“This is our chance to take the Chamber to the next level. Over the past three years, Darin Soukup and the Board of Directors have constructed a strong foundation to build upon.”

The Executive Search Committee members are Andrew Pence, Darin Soukup, President Elect Don Eaves, Donna Davis and Melanie Barker.

“I have full confidence in the committee to ensure a smooth and seamless transition,” says Rule. “The committee has refined the Executive Director position to better serve and represent the Chamber members and our mountain communities, and to fulfill our mission statement – ‘To promote and support the economic vitality while honoring and preserving the unique lifestyles of our mountain communities.’ The Executive Director will be the voice of the Membership, advocating on their behalf and safeguarding the economy and quality of life in the area.”
