OAKHURST – The Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the selection of a new Executive Director, Joelle V. Leder, who is set to begin her new position on Monday, Aug. 17.

With more than ten years’ experience in sales, marketing, public relations, social media and as an Operations Director, the Chamber looks forward to Leder providing knowledge and support for local businesses, community outreach, membership services, communication, and liaison for community organizations. She will also manage the organization’s day to day operations.

Through her business, JLP Social Media & Marketing, the incoming executive director created and managed social media exposure, event planning, public relations and marketing collateral for her clients in the Oakhurst and southern California area.

Leder’s new position with the Chamber comes on the heels of another recent announcement. On July 15 Leder posted that her company JLP had been tapped as the official social media and marketing firm for Sierra Star Online newspaper (not affiliated with Sierra News Online). Oakhurst Chamber Treasurer Betty Linn is the Publisher of the Sierra Star. Linn’s husband, David Linn, is the current District Attorney for Madera County.

Prior to these appointments, Leder has also served as an Operations Director at Brax Capital Group in Beverly Hills and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with emphasis in Sales and Marketing from California State Polytechnic University.

Currently, Leder sits on the Board of Directors for Soroptimist International of The Sierras and is a Director for Fresno Flats.

According to the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce, Joelle stood out among the other candidates for a number of reasons, including her background in social media, countless hours of volunteering, organizational skills, people skills and energy. The Chamber says they look forward to a prosperous future as a result of this partnership.
