North Fork Woman Dies In Single Vehicle Accident

NORTH FORK – A single vehicle accident last night on Douglas Ranger Station Road has taken the life of 26-year-old North Fork resident Allison Demers.

The accident happened at about 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27. The Ford Explorer in which Demers was a passenger was traveling south on Douglas Ranger Station Road just north of Trails End at approximately 15 mph, according the the CHP.The driver of the vehicle, Codi Moore, 22, of Wishon, allowed the vehicle to leave the roadway, causing it to roll some 80-100 feet down an embankment.

CHP, Madera County Sheriff’s deputies, the Rancheria Cal Fire engine and the North Fork Fire Department engine all responded to the scene.

Demers suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash, and Moore was taken into custory for driving under the influence, and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections.
