North Fork Visitors Center Celebrates Its Dedicated Volunteers

NORTH FORK – The North Fork Chamber of Commerce held a special celebration at Bandit Town on Feb. 23 to thank all those who volunteer at the Visitors Center.

Jenny Pearson, coordinator at the North Fork Visitors Center, said this special appreciation luncheon was to honor the 23 people who donate so much of their time.

“Most of these folks are also involved in other community organizations,” said Pearson, who is familiar with the local saying, “If you want to get something done in North Fork, ask a busy person!”

Volunteers are also members of groups such as the North Fork History Group, the North Fork Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, the Women’s Club, the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway and the North Fork Boosters.

“They have a vested interest in promoting all the activities in North Fork, and want to be involved,” said Pearson. “Even though it’s a small town, and there isn’t a lot of tourism, we have nearly two dozen volunteers. It just shows how dedicated these people are.”

Thank you to the very generous people who assist visitors to the area at the North Fork Visitors Center.
