North Fork Roundabout Construction Begins

NORTH FORK — Construction activity will soon begin at the intersection of Road 274 and Road 225 in North Fork, the site of Madera County’s first public roundabout.

According to a message posted on the Madera County Public Works Department’s Facebook page and electronic signs near the site, construction will begin on the project starting Monday, June 10. “Barring any unforeseen circumstances,” it’s expected to be completed by the end of November.

The intersection will remain open during construction, with traffic control personnel directing motorists through the construction area for the duration of the project.

“Commuters may experience slight delays at the Construction Zones,” the County notice states. “Please be mindful of the work in this area and drive with caution.”

Last month, the Madera County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the $1.97 million project.
