North Fork Rancheria Bids Farewell To Kelly Michele Marshall

NORTH FORK – The Board of Directors of the Sierra Mono Museum announced recently that Kelly Michele Marshall, 56, passed away on Dec. 24, 2017 in her home. She was the wife of Jason Kaelii Marshall. They shared 24 years of marriage together.

Marshall was long-time Sierra Mono Museum leader and distinguished North Fork Rancheria citizen.

Kelly was born in Madera, Calif., the daughter of Herman and Lois Walker. She attended Sierra High School and graduated from business college as a legal secretary in 1980. She was employed as Director of Human Resources at Chawanakee Unified School District for 33 years.

Kelly was the President of the Board of Directors of the Sierra Mono Museum over 15 years. She was also a member of the California Indian Basketweavers Association, CASBO, and a citizen of the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, hiking and making jam. She will be remembered for her dedication, loyalty, great sense of character, captivating smile and laugh, ability to pass no judgements and leadership.

She is survived by the love of her life, Jason Marshall; daughters Lindsay Bethel, Hannah & Bryan Smith and Amy Marshall; and her grandchildren Julia, Levi and Emma.

The graveside service was held on Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. at the North Fork Cemetery followed by a reception at North Fork Town Hall.
