North Fork Fall Festival This Saturday

NORTH FORK — This Saturday, Oct. 1., welcomes the return of two much-anticipated North Fork events — the Fall Festival and the Grizzly Century Bike Run.

The Fall Festival runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and kicks off with a Lions Club Pancake Breakfast starting at 6 a.m. at the North Fork School where the Bike Run will be staging.

The Forest Service Employee’s Association BBQ lunch/dinner will be served up at the Town Hall between 11 a.m and 4 p.m. Diners can enjoy the student art show which will be on display at Town Hall.

There will be plenty of vendors, crafts and a flea market, plus wandering musicians to provide the soundtrack for the day.

The North Fork History Group will present a historical display called “Laundry Long Ago” in the Scout Building next door to Town Hall. Other displays include School Photos from the Past, Old Promotional Items, North Fork Vintage Emporium, San Joaquin Valley Antique Flywheelers and more.

This is also the weekend for the Sierra Art Trails, and North Fork will be host to three stops along the trail. Gay Abarbanell will be showing at the Old Mill Site CDC Building, Craig Schub & Michelle Sonoqui Gillette will be at Slim’s Koffee Shak in downtown North Fork, and Anja Kos will be welcoming Art Trails visitors at her home studio in Cascadel Woods.

This event is sponsored by the following non-profit organizations: North Fork Boosters, North Fork History Group, the Forest Service Employee’s Association and the Lion’s Club.

The 23rd annual Grizzly Century Bike Run takes place from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., leaving from the North Fork School. Besides the classic 100-mile ride, there is a 26-mile Loop the Lake, the Metric Century, and a Grinder.
