North Fork Christmas Tree Lot Sells Out, Closes For Season

NORTH FORK — For the first time that Scoutmaster Dave Smith can remember, the North Fork Scout Christmas tree lot is sold out before the second weekend.

“We sold the last two trees around 4:30 this afternoon,” says Dave. “We have run out of trees before but that was due to snow keeping us from getting our planned number.”

Customers appear to have come early this year to the lot at the North Fork Library to obtain a fresh tree, and by closing time on Friday night, the annual North Fork Scout Fund Christmas tree sale came to a close as all of its supply of Christmas trees had been sold.

“The Scouts would like to thank everyone who helped obtain and sell Christmas trees,” says Dave, “and also thank all of the loyal customers who came and purchased a fresh Christmas tree.

“I hope to be able to obtain a few more trees next year. We did have two folks go away this afternoon without a tree. I hate to disappoint people.”

The Scouts express their regret to anyone who may have planned to visit the lot to obtain a tree in the coming days and hope to see everyone again next December.

“Merry Christmas!”
