North Fork Christmas Tree Lighting

NORTH FORK – It’s time for some festive merry-making in the village of North Fork, as the residents of the exact center of California kick off the holiday season.

On Tuesday, Dec. 3, the annual Christmas Tree lighting ritual be will celebrated at 5:30 p.m. at the Crazy Y, brought to you by the North Fork Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center.

Revelers are invited to bring an ornament to hang on the tree, which has been adorned with lights courtesy of Ponderosa.

The North Fork Community Choir will entertain with selections from their annual holiday concert, “Songs of the Season,” to be presented on Saturday Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. at the North Fork School. The choir will lead everyone in singing Christmas carols as the tree is illuminated.

There will be snacks and hot chocolate, coffee, cookies, cakes, and pies, donated by generous citizens and funds from local businesses.

Wreaths will be hung along Main Street by the crew at Sierra Pest Control, and elves are busy working on giant candy canes to dress up the town.
