“Night At The Museum” In Mariposa

MARIPOSA — Explore mining tunnels, browse the stunning display of gems and minerals, and enjoy appetizers and refreshments, all while supporting a state treasure in Mariposa.

Everyone is invited to experience a “Night at the Museum” on Wednesday, June 22, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. as the California State Mining and Mineral Museum opens its doors for what is sure to be a fascinating evening.

There will be mine tunnel tours, special presentations and demonstrations, plus a raffle and silent auction, all sponsored by the California State Mining and Mineral Museum Association.

Visitors can peruse the displays of giant crystals, florescent minerals, meteorites, and the star of the show — the historic Fricot Nugget, some 13 lbs. of crystalline gold.

Appetizers will be served, and there will be a beer and wine cash bar available.

The Museum is located at the Mariposa Fairgrounds, 5005 Fairgrounds Road, Mariposa.
