Next “Start Smart” Teen Driving Class Free At CHP

Start Smart graphicOAKHURST — The Oakhurst Area CHP invites those students and parents who are entering the world of teenage driving to attend a “Start Smart” presentation at the Oakhurst CHP Area Office.

The next Start Smart will take place on Thursday, Sept. 15 from 6 – 8 p.m. The event is offered by CHP Office Kaci Lutz and there is no charge for the workshop. Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to attend.

Start Smart is a program designed to provide teens and their parents/guardians with an interactive safe driving awareness experience which will illustrate how poor choices behind the wheel of a vehicle can affect the lives of numerous people.

Start Smart also focuses on the responsibilities on newly licensed drivers, responsibilities of parents/guardians, and collision avoidance techniques.
