OAKHURST — The building at the corner of Highways 41 and 49 in Oakhurst has been the site of many a restaurant over the years, but it will soon be the location of a new auto parts store.
AutoZone is scheduled to open a 7,000 sq. ft. store the end of July.
According to a Madera County official, the company combined two parcels to accommodate the expansion of the building, with some of the original structure being retained.
The local AutoZone plans to hire up to a dozen employees, following the company’s model of 70 percent full-time, and 30 percent part-time, says AutoZone representative Ray Pohlman.
The company will be seeking applications from potential employees in the near future.
Autozone has over 5,500 locations across the U.S.
