Music on the Green Presents Mariposa Ukulele & Snake Rock

MARIPOSA–One of Mariposa’s longest-standing community programs, Music on the Green features free, live concerts every Friday and Saturday of the summer at the Mariposa County Art Park. Produced by Andy Roberts and the Mariposa Arts Council, Music on the Green supports local and traveling musicians from all genres. It also draws visitors and residents alike to Mariposa’s vibrant, historic downtown community.

This weekend’s featured music guests are The Mariposa Ukulele Ensemble and Snake Rock.

The Mariposa Ukulele Ensemble

The Mariposa Ukulele Ensemble is led by Mariposa’s prolific Gail Dreifus. It started as 7 people interested in ukulele lessons and has blossomed over seven years into a 25 member ensemble with upright bass, harmonica, drums, bass uke, banjolele and vocal soloists.

Snake Rock

Snake Rock is a local Rock band led by lifetime Mariposa musician Billy Dewitt. Singer, songwriter, rocker, Billy Dewitt has been writing, performing, and recording music in Mariposa for about as long or longer than any other local musician. Carrying on his family legacy in the Mariposa music scene he returns to the Art Park stage with his band playing originals and covers.
