Music on Screen: Next Up, Singer/Songwriter Nicholas Lefler

MARIPOSA — In the next installment of the Music on the Screen Virtual Concert Series — a pandemic alternative to Music on the Green — the Mariposa County Arts Council and its sponsors present multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter Nicholas Lefler from Murphys, California.

Lefler will live stream from the Mariposa Arts Council Facebook page beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday (June 13).

A full time professional musician for the last twenty years, Lefler is a master of the looper, creating seamless masterpieces with his Spanish style guitar and percussion. He has been a long-time loyal Music on the Green performer, enchanting listeners with his one-of-a-kind sound. But like many musicians and artists, Lefler has had to make steep adjustments to continue playing during the shutdown. Now, he performs live streams concerts weekly in the hope that his music can help quell anxiety and promote peace for his nationwide-listeners.

He encourages his fans to “… stay as positive as possible and be there for those that need it most.”

Next on the Music on the Screen line-up:  Nathan Ignacio on Friday, July 17 and The Jespersons on Saturday, August 15.

All live streams begin at 7 p.m. and people viewing are able to tip the musicians from a link on the stream. (The Arts Council will direct every penny donated during the concerts to the respective musicians and encourage people to tip generously.)

“Artists and arts organizations, especially performing artists, have been hit particularly hard by COVID-19 so we hope you can tune in, enjoy some live music in the comfort of your own home and support our amazing community musicians,” says Executive Director Cara Goger.

The Arts Council is an incorporated not-for-profit organization created to promote and support all forms of the cultural arts, for all ages, throughout Mariposa County. The organization is supported in part by the County of Mariposa, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency and the California Arts Council, a state agency.
